The autumn colours you're going to fall for

I’m going to be honest and admit that I researched this blog with a hot cocoa in hand that I added a generous slosh of Baileys to, which means Autumn has definitely landed. I repeat, Autumn has definitely landed.

Long gone are the gentle pastels of a summer sunrise and the tropical palette of a hot afternoon spent sipping cocktails under the sun. The must-have colours of this season are taking a rich, luxurious turn and I’m here to help you stay one step ahead, quite literally, with our collection of design-led carpet tiles and planks.

Classic charcoal grey

Like the kind of moody, rumbling storm you love to watch unfold from the safety of your bedroom window, this season’s palette of choice features a spectrum of smokey, smokey greys and heaps and heaps of attitude.

From a muted shade of mist right through to those thunderous charcoal hues, grey is the new tan when it comes to nailing the Autumnal aesthetic.

Grey also happens to be our most popular carpet tile colour choice so look no further than out cut-price collection to kick start your interior imagination.

Deep petrol blue

Blue is also a hot topic amongst DCTUK regulars and newbies alike but we’re stepping away from the sweet sky blues and heading towards a more mature and grungy collection of colourways.

For me, everything about autumn should be warm - my toes, my drinks, my interior decor - so I wasn’t sold on a cool tone rearing it’s head at first but now I just can’t get enough of petrol blue.

To hit the bullseye on that a la mode, autumnal vibe, I wouldn’t recommend going full throttle with this one but a nod towards dark teal provides a gorgeous finishing touch.

A timeless terracotta

When I say grey is the new tan, please don’t get me wrong - those pumpkin spice, leaf crunching, wooly jumper wearing shades we all know and love are still providing the fundamental foundations.

From rich burnt umbers and warm mustard yellows to deep dark browns and the old faithful terracotta, everything we love about autumn is here to stay so have no fear.

Use these tried and tested shades to create the perfect backdrop for more your experimental modern accent colours for a look that would have Laurence Llewelyn Bowen quaking in his floral shirts.
