Carpet tile recycling
We’re doing our bit for the planet – and not just for show. DCTUK has teamed up with Tarkett on their “ReStart” recycling programme. They’ve been scooping up old carpet tiles from fit-outs, breaking them down, and turning them into something useful again. Proper circular economy stuff.
Our fitters are now in on the action too. Considering construction waste makes up nearly 38% of landfill, it’s a no-brainer. Between 2010 and 2018, ReStart collected 102,000 tonnes of flooring across Europe and North America.
In 2023, DCTUK alone contributed 10% of all Tarkett UK’s ReStart take-back flooring from uplifted product at our installations. Not bad, right?
LVT recycling
DCTUK has teamed up with Amtico to back their Take Back scheme for luxury vinyl tiles. We’re not just talking the talk. At the end of a job, we collect clean off-cuts and even the messy uplifted stuff covered in glue or screed. We bag it, sort it, and get it all sent back to Amtico. The clean bits get turned into brand-new flooring. The rest? Transformed into useful things like traffic cones and speed bumps. Nothing wasted.
