A weekend refit of Coca-Cola's Nottingham office: around 700m² of old tiles lifted and recycled, and Desso Recharge carpet tiles laid in a two-tone design.
Coca-Cola's team on the second floor of Waterfront House, right by Nottingham station, needed a fresh floor without losing a single working day. The space covers around 700m² of open-plan offices and meeting rooms, and the brief was simple: get it done over a weekend and have everything back in place for Monday morning.
After reviewing a round of samples, the client chose Desso Recharge, a hard-wearing commercial carpet tile, in two colourways (9503 and 9990). Laying the two together as a design lay gives the floor more character than a single shade, while keeping the clean, professional look a corporate office needs. The tiles were fixed with Bostik FIX A320 tackifier and Sticky Stuff tackifier spray over the existing concrete subfloor.
The old carpet tiles came up first, with a Bully Stripper used to speed up the uplift across such a large area. Rather than sending the old tiles to landfill, our team stacked them on pallets for collection and recycling. With the concrete subfloor sound and unpainted, the new Recharge tiles went straight down.
The install was planned entirely around the working week. We took delivery of the stock on site ahead of time, and a team of four fitters started on the meeting rooms (around 200m²) on the Friday, then took on the remaining 500m² of open-plan space across Saturday and Sunday. We also moved the furniture out and back in, so the office was ready to use as soon as staff walked back through the door.
It's a good example of the kind of commercial work we do every week: a live, occupied office, a tight window, and a client who needed the result without the disruption. Uplift, recycling, furniture moves and out-of-hours fitting, all handled by one team.
