Kangaroo Storage Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent
Stoke-on-Trent
Rubber flooring for reception and Desso Essence carpet tiles throughout: how we fitted out Kangaroo Self Storage's Hanley store in Stoke-on-Trent.
Rubber and Carpet Tiles for Kangaroo Self Storage in Hanley
Kangaroo Self Storage asked us to give their Hanley store on Leek Road a fresh, hard-wearing finish. The public-facing parts of a storage site take a lot of footfall, from customers coming in with boxes, trolleys and wet weather, so the brief was a floor that looks good and keeps looking good.
The reception, where everyone arrives, got rubber flooring. It's tough, easy to wipe clean and forgiving underfoot, which makes it a sensible choice for an entrance that's used all day. Before the rubber went down, our team primed and screeded the 39m² area so the surface was smooth and ready to bond.
Everywhere else, including the staff room and meeting room, was fitted with Desso Essence carpet tiles. We used a mix of colours from the Essence range, with the bulk of the floor in one main shade and smaller areas in complementary tones, and laid them as a design lay across roughly 100m². A 4m² section of entrance matting sits at the door to catch dirt before it travels any further into the building.
To make it all stay put, the team used Bostik A320 adhesive, Sticky Stuff tackifier for the carpet tiles and contact spray adhesive for the details, finishing the edges with a screw-down square edge trim. There was no furniture to work around, and with no parking or access problems on site, the fit ran smoothly. It was completed in December 2025.
Kangaroo is a customer we've worked with across several of their stores, and this one is a good example of how a small site can still use more than one material: a practical rubber floor where it matters most, and a softer carpet tile finish in the rooms where people spend longer.
