I-Scaff Access Solutions, Glenrothes: Concrete-Effect Carpet Tiles With a Splash of Brand Colour

I-Scaff Access Solutions came to us with a clear brief for their Glenrothes premises. They wanted a concrete-effect look across the offices, with the company's own colours worked subtly into the design. They wanted it to look industrial and grounded, and to clearly be theirs.

The job covered around 250m² over two floors, including a run of individual offices of roughly 12m² each. Around 190m² of that went down as a design lay in carpet tiles, set out to bring I-Scaff's colours through the scheme without letting them take over.

Just as important was knowing where not to put carpet. On the ground floor, the kitchens, WCs and male changing rooms were deliberately left as polished concrete. Scaffolders come in with dirty boots and there are always spillages, so a hard floor made more sense there. The carpet tiles start where the office areas begin, so the practical spaces stay practical and the working spaces get the warmth and acoustic comfort.

The stairs needed their own treatment. Our team lifted the old covering and refitted nine steps in carpet tiles with new nosings. Two steps were screeded first to give a sound, level base. The subfloor throughout was bare concrete, and the building was heated during the install, so conditions were good for the adhesive and the tiles to settle in properly.

Fitting ran over a single working week in early November 2025, during normal hours, and the project was signed off as complete by the middle of the month. I-Scaff got a floor that matches the business: hard-wearing where it needs to be, on-brand where people work, and finished without dragging on.

It's a good example of what we enjoy most: taking a client's idea of what their space should feel like and turning it into a layout that works on the ground, steps and changing rooms included.
