Sugar house

A company needed a new carpet tile finish for their space at Sugar House in Stratford. The client already knew exactly what they wanted: Take a Walk 790 carpet tiles, across just under 300m² of floor.

The subfloor here was a raised access floor, which is common in modern offices and workspaces. It hides cabling and services under removable panels, and carpet tiles are the natural partner for it: tiles can be lifted along with a panel whenever someone needs to get underneath, then dropped straight back into place.

The main challenge on this job was the floor boxes. There were 42 of them spread across the space, each one providing power and data at desk positions. Every box had to be cut around accurately so that the lids open and close freely and the tiles sit flush around the edges, with no gaps or lifting corners. Our fitters also carried out some small repair works to the floor before laying, so the finished surface would sit level and last.

With 294m² of carpet tiles laid straight across the floor, the installation was completed over two days in late September 2025, during normal working hours, and the project was signed off at the start of October.

It's a good example of the everyday commercial work we do well: getting the details right on a raised access floor so the space looks sharp on day one and stays practical for years.
