St Nicholas Nursery
London
New hygienic vinyl flooring for St Nicholas Nursery in North West London: 52m² straight-laid, with old carpet tiles uplifted, planned around nursery life.
St Nicholas Nursery in North West London, needed flooring that could keep up with a busy early years setting: easy to clean, comfortable underfoot and tough enough for little feet, spills and messy play every day.
We surveyed the nursery in July 2025 to measure up and talk through what the space needed. Together with the nursery we settled on a two-part scope: uplifting around 17m² of tired carpet tiles and fitting 52m² of new vinyl, laid straight for a clean, tidy finish across the rooms.
Vinyl is a natural fit for nurseries. A smooth surface leaves fewer places for dirt to collect, it wipes down quickly between sessions, and it stands up to the constant traffic of children, staff and parents. Our fitting team handled the uplift and the specialist vinyl lay, making sure the new floor sat neatly and safely in a space where trip hazards simply aren’t an option.
The main installation took place at the end of September 2025. With heating on in the building and no furniture to move, the team could get the floor down efficiently and keep disruption to the nursery to a minimum. We returned in early November for a follow-up visit to finish off, and the project was signed off as complete on 10 November.
Education and early years settings make up a big part of our work, and we know they need floors that are practical, hygienic and fitted with as little interruption to the day as possible. This project at St Nicholas Nursery is a good example of exactly that.
