CLASS UFC GYM - Woking

When this Woking gym needed to refresh the flooring across its training spaces, the project called for a solution that could stand up to heavy daily use while giving the space a smarter, more professional finish. Working alongside contractor Liftd Design, DCTUK delivered a full supply-and-installation service covering two distinct zones of the site.
The Brief
The existing floor — a mix of synthetic turf and rubber matting laid over ply subfloor — had reached the end of its useful life. The brief was to strip out the old surface, properly prepare the subfloor, and fit new flooring suited to two different training areas: the main gym floor and a dedicated free-weights zone.
Products Used
Polyflor Expona Commercial PUR in Roasted Oak — a heavy-duty luxury vinyl tile (LVT) — was specified for the main gym floor, glue-down fitted in a straight-lay pattern with Bostik STIX A640 pressure-sensitive adhesive. The free-weights zone was fitted with interlocking rubber tiles, chosen for their shock absorption under dropped weights. Subfloor preparation used Ardex Feather Finish smoothing compound and SP101 6mm flooring-grade plywood, with aluminium trims finishing the transitions between zones.
Installation Service
This was a full supply-and-fit project, delivered by DCTUK's installation team. Work began with a pre-installation site survey to assess the subfloor, followed by uplift of the old turf and rubber matting. The subfloor was then levelled and reinforced before the new LVT was glue-down fitted across the main gym floor, with interlocking rubber tiling fitted separately in the free-weights area. Materials were delivered directly to site ahead of a scheduled two-day fit.

The project covered around 150m² in total — 122m² of LVT across the main gym floor and 28m² of interlocking rubber tile in the free-weights area — in Woking, Surrey.

The finished space gives CLASS UFC GYM - Woking a durable, professional-grade training surface built to handle the demands of a busy commercial gym, with flooring matched to the performance needs of each zone.
