Offices and studios in White City

When a fit-out contractor needed a reliable flooring partner for a project at Television Centre in White City, they brought us in to handle the carpet tile installation. The landmark former BBC site is now home to offices, studios and homes, and the job here covered eight separate rooms plus a connecting corridor on Wood Crescent.

Before quoting, our team measured each space individually. The rooms ranged from just under 10m² to just over 14m², with several sharing similar footprints, adding up to roughly 94m² of floor in total, plus a small corridor area. Measuring room by room like this means we order exactly what's needed and keep waste to a minimum, which matters on a job made up of lots of smaller spaces rather than one open floor.

The brief was a straightforward lay of carpet tiles onto a prepared floor, with no old covering to strip out first. Carpet tiles suit this kind of cellular layout well: they're quick to cut in around doorways and room edges, they make future access to floor services easy, and individual tiles can be swapped out down the line if a section gets damaged.

With a pre-installation check call done a couple of days beforehand to confirm access and timings, our fitting team arrived early and completed the whole installation in one day, starting at 7am and finishing by 4pm. Getting eight rooms and a corridor done in a single visit kept the wider fit-out programme moving and meant APC Interiors could hand the spaces on without waiting on flooring.
