Desso collaborates with the legendary Odette Ex

We always love it when our friends at Desso come in to see us but it's always extra exciting when they come clutching a brand new range of modular carpet products. You'd think with us having the biggest selection of carpet tiles in the UK we'd be sick of the site of them by now but nope, the industry just keeps on innovating.

This time Rachel from Desso came in to talk to us about the fabulous Desso&Ex collection which has already taken Dutch Design Week by storm so let me tell you all about it...

The DessoEx collection is a real designer's dream

To create this collection, Desso joined forces with well-known designer and Interior Architect, Odette Ex who founded Ex Interiors way back in 1994 (hence the name). Desso&Ex is made up of 115 different designs, each inspired by world art and with the aim of celebrating colour and pattern through multi-layered designs. It's one cool collaboration that's for sure.

While carpet planks are typically 25xcm x 100cm, these so-called slabs take on a more chunky constitution with measurements of 50cm x 100cm. Once they have been installed however, they take on the appearance of seamless wall-to-wall broadloom so they're a great all-rounder.

As is true for the entire Desso&Ex repertoire, this range is all about muted colours and understated tones to create layering and pattern. The palette consists of 3 warmer taupe hues and 3 classic grey shades so lots of the classic commercial bases are covered.
