Or alternatively, give a subtle nod to the material of the moment by updating your appliances, light fixtures or furniture with some gold, brass or copper newbies.
If you want to keep it even more low key than that, get your hands on some cute metallic accents instead. A brass candle holder here, a gold lamp shade there or some stylish copper cutlery to bring out when the in-laws come round for dinner and you'll be golden. Literally.
