Give your Kitchen some TLC with LVT

Rebecca Ali

Is your kitchen slowly starting to resemble one of Ramsey’s kitchen nightmares and less like the master chef masterpiece you had in mind? Not to worry, we’ve been cooking up a storm (pun intended) with some of our favourite flooring designs that’ll turn your hell’s kitchen into the dream kitchen you’ve always wanted.

Two Ingredients Required

Before I tell you about the designs, let’s quickly discuss the flooring itself. There are two different types of flooring I’m going to recommend. The first is LVT.

LVT stands for Luxury Vinyl Tile and it’s a vinyl-based material meaning it’s synthetic. LVT’s come in a few different instillation designs:

  1. Glue down – pretty straight forward, you need adhesive to stick it down
  2. Click - the tiles click together using an easy lock system
  3. Loose-lay - you only have to glue around the perimeter of the room

There are many advantages to LVT – it’s water resistant, highly durable and it’s easy to clean!

The second flooring type is Linoleum. Linoleum flooring is made from natural materials such as wood flour, linseed rosin, cocoa beans, etc. It's carbon neutral and it uses up to 40% recycled content.

Aside from all its environmental advantages, it has a lot of advantages for its buyers too – it’s highly durable against stains and damage, easy to clean and its extremely versatile, not only can it be used on floors, but it can be used on walls and ceilings too!

Okay, now onto the designs!

Nouveau RigidCore LVT

A timeless classic for any kitchen, Nouveau RigidCore is sleek, stylish and, more importantly, stain-proof! So, you don’t have to worry about the unexpected spillages that happen along the way. Speaking of spillages, Nouveau RigidCore is also 100% water resistant! It comes in 6 different neutral toned shades (my personal favourite is Cloudy Grey Oak), is easy to install with its click/lock in system and, it has underlay preinstalled on the back of its planks! Talk about a time saver.

QA Luvanto Click LVT

If you’re looking to turn your kitchen from shabby to chic, then take a look at QA Luvanto Click LVT. Stated in its name, this LVT range has a click design system that’s quick to install. It doesn’t require any adhesive however you’ll need to lay the QA Click Underlay before putting the flooring down. The Luvanto Click LVT range are 100% water resistant, stain resistant and they have fire resistant properties! (that isn’t an excuse to ‘accidentally’ burn pasta bake).
